Children
“They only have one pair of eyes”
Blurred vision can hinder a Childs development - and failure to spot and treat any vision problems early on in young eyes can often lead to further difficulties in later life. Bring your children for regular eye tests.
All new born babies are screened before they leave hospital to ensure their eyes are working properly.
Health visitors carry out a 39 month assessment and their excellent work is a major source of referrals to optometrists for more detailed investigations.
All children should have a full eye examination before they go to primary school and regularly thereafter. Research has shown that development of a child’s visual system is largely complete by the age of 8, after which there is little scope for improvement in ‘lazy eyes’. So, the earlier treatment is started the better the possible results.
Remember that all children’s eye examination are paid for by the NHS. At ELLERKER Opticians we are happy to see children of any age.
CHILDREN DON’T HAVE TO READ LETTERS DURING AN EYETEST!
