General Information
Ellerker Opticians is an established independent practice in the heart of Shrewsbury with a reputation for providing top quality eyecare and products. Our friendly, local staff have a wealth of knowledge in the optical industry. We will use state of the art technology to tailor our eye examinations to your individual needs. We offer a wide variety of frames and lenses to suit all tastes and budgets from NHS frames to individually handcrafted pieces to cater for the most discerning tastes.

Wheelchair
We have wheelchair access in the practice with a temporary ramp to enter and no steps inside. We can move the examination chair and park your wheelchair there instead. Our diagnostic machines can be used with some compatible wheelchairs. Feel free to contact us for further information.
NHS services
Ellerker Opticians is a proud partner of the NHS, delivering emergency CUES services, pre- and post-cataract examinations, glaucoma repeat measures (GRR), enhanced glaucoma case finding (GERS) and post-vision screening paediatric care.
Dogs
We are a dog friendly practice. Well behaved dogs are welcome (and will be fussed over!) on the main shop floor but only service dogs in the test room please.
Getting to us
Car Parking: Mardol has some limited metered parking on-street, as well as a few blue-badge disabled spots. These spaces are in high demand. The nearest car park is Barker Street. Frankwell car park is a little further but has more capacity in busier times.
Park and Ride: Shrewsbury has an excellent park-and-ride service.
Cycling: Shrewsbury has secure cycling pods and there are several anchored bike rails on Roushill and Mardol
Bus and Train: Shrewsbury is well-served by good rail links and bus services, with stations for both being in walking distance of Ellerkers.
